Everyone in the raw community that we've talked to or read has without exception declared this to be the dehydrator to get. We were really considering getting the 5 drawer model but a raw fooder taking my Quantum-Touch workshop at the time urged us to reconsider. She told us that we woulld be amazed at how often we would need the 'extra' trays in this model. And guess what, there's only the two of us and we use it for so many things we actually have two of these! And space is at a real premium in our place…

We can't imagine living this lifestyle without having our Vita-Prep. Actually, we have both a Vita-Prep Commercial model and a Vita-Mix home model. Hands down, we think this Vita-Prep is the way to go. There are other, more powerful blenders available, but this 2+ hp model is plenty powerful enough for home use. The 3+ hp blenders (including Vita-Prep) are way more expensive and the only real advantage is they are rated for continuous commercial use. Other than that, we see no reason to spend durn near double the price. And just for the record, the K-Tec 3hp blender is about the same price as this model Vita-Prep, and you do not have the simplicity of use and total control you get with the Vita-Prep. If you are confused by all this, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to discuss the pros & cons of this most critical of all appliances you must have in your raw kitchen.

A good food processor sure makes raw food prep go easy and fast! But only if you get the right one. (trust us, we're speaking from painful experience here!) This 14 cup model has the power to handle all the recipes you will throw at it - and then some. Do not make the mistake of purchasing a smaller unit. Fair warning. 'Nuff said.

Cuisenart appliances are readily available in stores, however we've provided links to order from Amazon should you wish to defer sales tax - shipping is free.

Spiral Slicer (Saladacco)

This wonderful little tool is sold under several different brand names, all for about the same price. If you can't find one at your local Whole Foods or health foods market, then you can get it here. This is the least expensive way to make raw 'pastas' and as such is a great device to have in your cupboard!
