So, Why Eat Raw Living Foods …
After all, eating healthy fresh uncooked fruits and vegetables every day isn't really such a new concept. Raw food advocates simply say that these foods should be most of what we eat.
What IS Raw Food?
Raw food is food that has not been heated above 118 degrees Fahrenheit and is whole and unprocessed such as fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds.
 
As the raw community gains popularity, food manufacturers, retailers, chefs have begun to take basic raw ingredients and create raw versions of favorite recipes. We are now seeing raw 'pizzas,' 'cakes,' ice 'creams,' and entrees of all sorts in markets and restaurants in increasing numbers. We've dined at local restaurants in high style starting with amazing appetizers and ending with a raw banana split!
 
What is “Living Food?”
The terms 'raw' and 'living' are often used interchangeably in this context. However, 'living' is much more descriptive of what foods on the raw lifestyle are about, they are, after all, foods that are still alive, being uncooked. These foods are effectively still living and growing (or ripening) and can support life to a much greater degree of vibrancy than the same food when cooked.
 
To be technically accurate, the term “Living Food” really applies only to foods that are still growing. You should picture seeds that are sprouting, wheatgrass in trays or fermenting foods like raw unpasteurized sauerkraut, all of which are (enzymatically) very much 'alive.'
